CONGRESSIONAL SPOUSES
BALTIMORE -Maryland congressional spouses gathered at the Maryland Food Bank Tuesday to sponsor "Elect to End Hunger," where they helped to pack food boxes for those in need during the holiday season. Myrna Cardin, Ellen Bartlett, Kathyrn Van Hollen, and others were accompanied by more than 90 volunteers to help reach their goal of packing 4,800 boxes, which included a turkey. LAND USE
ANNAPOLIS - A significant portion of the state's land is vulnerable to development, which might hinder the state's land preservation goals, said Joe Tassone, the Department of Planning's Director of Land and Water Resource Planning, at a legislative hearing Tuesday. Although most counties support land preservation, many must stabilize their land base by making difficult changes to their zoning and land use regulations, or land preservation will not work.
