Asst. Professor in Emerging Media (Tenure Track)

The Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland is seeking a tenure-track assistant professor of emerging media. The ideal candidate is an innovator who can work and teach across media platforms; carry out an ambitious program of scholarship or creative activity; and help our growing team of new media professionals and scholars as we explore the potential of a new state-of-the art journalism facility.

The successful candidate will offer demonstrated commitment to effective teaching in online journalism as well as the ability to collaborate with both students and faculty in the "hands on" news bureaus of our Capital News Service.

Demonstrated ability to carry out a research agenda is desirable.

A Ph.D. is preferred; other academic credentials will be considered.

The Merrill College is committed to achieving diversity among its faculty, students, and in its curriculum and welcomes applicants who can help achieve those objectives. Salary and benefits will be competitive.

The Philip Merrill College is a Carnegie Initiative on the Future of Journalism member institution.
