Annual Fall Convention

MSPA's annual Fall Convention provides an exciting opportunity for high school journalism advisers and students to share meaningful experiences, learn innovative practices, and develop new relationships.

Sessions cover a range of topics from writing and editing to staff organization and management, while also addressing the varied needs of students and advisers. Thus, there's something for everyone, regardless of skill level, staff size, or scholastic publication.

The 2007 Fall Convention will be held on Nov. 16. Click here to view convention details.

This year’s convention will include workshop sessions conducted by individuals affiliated with the Maryland-District of Columbia Scholastic Press Association. Anyone, students, advisers and/or administrators interested in presenting a workshop session or multiple workshop sessions should click here to submit information on the Session Submission Form.

The information will be reviewed and the presenters will be notified of session acceptance or denial by Friday, October 26, 2007.

  • Workshop session must be appropriate for scholastic advisers and/or students.
  • Workshop session limited to 50-minutes.
  • Presenter understands that the Association reserves the right to modify the session.

Questions about the the submission process should be directed to Marchelle Payne-Gassaway by telephone at (301) 405-8321 or Dana Miller by telephone at (301) 405-2397 or by email to mspa@jmail.umd.edu.
